'The Artist's Way' Creative Cluster in Sydney

We bet you have this book tucked away on the shelf!! 'The Artist's Way' by Julia Cameron, is the seminal book on the subject of creativity - An international bestseller that millions of readers have found to be an invaluable guide to living the artist's life.

Still as vital today-or perhaps even more so-than it was when it was first published one decade ago, it is a powerfully provocative and inspiring work. It's a book that helps you discover and recover your creative self.

In July 2011 we had our first meet up at the NSW Art Gallery, three creative clusters formed on a geographical basis. These groups worked though 12 weeks of activities in The Artists Way book. The creative awakening has been reported as surprising and inspiring, fun and insightful.

By the end of 2011 the first lot of inspired creatives will have worked thier way through the text. Some might even want to do it all over again.

If you discover this page, its probably synchronicity (see chapter 3 of the book)! We encourage you to start up new creative clusters and discussion groups working from week one of the book. Post a message that you want to start a group, (suggest a location) and people will respond to you.

Julia Cameron advises to make great strides by taking small steps. So, even if you can't join us we encourage you to:

Do your morning pages
Take 20 minute walks 2-3 times a week
Go on artists dates

UPDATE 30/8/11: We are having a mid-point check in session at NSW Art Gallery - existing clusters come and share, new members looking to start a creative cluster come along. See the meet up and RSVP "Yes".

Update 22/10/11: The first lot of creative clusters are in the final stages of the book and feeling pretty proud of themselves for sticking with it.

Update 2/12/11: Looking forward to 2012 we thought we might try post one gathering (to keep inspired) on about a monthly basis...... Well it's an idea we can give a go and see what happens! Also new creative clusters will form to work through the book.
