{ArtsTechPhilly} Presents Foodie Vs. Techie A Demo Day

Welcome Back ArtsTechPhilly Friends,

To start the new year off we are presenting a Demo Day discussing the intersection of food and technology. In the past several years food tech has brought us wonders such as molecular gastronomy, crowd funding platforms for food entrepreneurs and big data mobile apps that allow consumers to make more informed decisions.

In true Demo Day fashion we will split up the evening between three 10 minute presentations from local food tech leaders followed by a short recess. After three members will be given 5 minutes to present their perspective of food tech. To present a demo please submit your ideas for a presentation to [masked].

The evening schedule will be as follows:

7PM Doors Open

7:30PM Presentations Begin

8PM Short recess

8:15 Three 5 minute Presentations from members

8:30-9:30 Mingle and continue the conversation

Featured Presentations

Consmr is a product review app for iPhone that allows users to scan the barcodes of any drugstore, beauty, grocery or baby product to reveal democratic, crowdsourced reviews.  Don't buy disappointing deodorant or sour orange juice; just scan with Consmr to make smarter shopping decisions. Felicia D'Ambrosio is a Philadelphia native and recent transplant to NYC, where she serves as community manager of Consmr.  Her other ventures include fried chicken and donut shop Federal Donuts, where she learned the value of honoring the social media conversation, especially when it's about important things like food.

For a chance to demo send your topic to [masked].

LOVE the subject. Interesting to see food consumerism and technology coming together. Like the potential to influence products -- esp. to be more green/natural.

Unfortunately due to scheduling, and logistical issues I regret to inform you that this evenings event Foodie Vs. Techie will be postponed and rescheduled for a date to be announced in February. We will update you within the week as to what that next date will be and event details. I apologize for the confusion and lateness of this announcement. However, tonight is still a great day to look forward to as Philly Tech Week 2013 is hosting an event in accordance with our previous Art & Tech Incubator.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
