9 mile hike in the Middle Prong Wilderness

We will be hiking the Buckeye Gap, Haywood Gap, and Mtn to Sea trails.

We will set up carpools and drive about 30 min south on the Parkway to the Rough Butt Bald overlook and this is where we will leave our cars.

Please remember to bring plenty of water, hiking poles and a lunch.

This hike is difficult with a steep downhill and some uphill also. There is a spot where you have to sit on your bottom and scooch on a rock to get down. There is the beautiful Middle Prong creek where we will lunch and play.

Please no dogs on this hike.
