UPDATED: We’ve managed to line up a very broad and diverse list of guest presenters and speakers for this month’s Meetup.

From the impact of VR on storytelling, education and sports through to new eye tracking tech and the recent launch of the HTC Vive, this session will appeal to developers, technologists, content creators and VR / 360 degree video enthusiasts wanting to learn more about the latest innovations and approaches. Or simply those who just to hangout with like-minded people who want to change the world!

Presentations will include an overview of:

• The future of sports and Virtual Reality

• VR Storytelling: 360 degree video production and Samsung Gear demo

• What VR means for education and learning

• UX design for VR and 360 video

• New Oculus Rift 2K2 eye tracking integration demo

• HTC Vive / Project Tango+Cardboard demo.

It’s going to be an amazing night ahead so please sign up early, as there will be limited spaces.

We’ll have a hard start at 7 pm and aim to wrap-up at around 9 pm.

7.00pm - Introduction / AsiaVR Updates from Jia and Don

A quick intro of AsiaVR and our plans.

7.05 pm - “The Future of Sports and Virtual Reality” -Maurizio Barbieri, Head of Sports, Samsung Asia

A highly passionate VR advocate and tech entrepreneur in his own right, Maurizio will share his perspective on the possibilities for rich and immersive experiences to come for sports fans, athletes, content creators and broadcasters.

7.25 pm - “Against Blue Current: What VR Means for Storytelling” - Ender Jiang and Hiverlab

Ender and team will explain how they produce 360 video and what the integration of new technologies will mean to the evolution of VR storytelling.

They’ll also demo their latest project, ’Against Blue Current’, by providing hands-on experience with the Samsung Gear VR.

7.45 pm - “Project Arctic: VR and Education” - Li Shaohuan / Vito Technologies

VR is changing the way knowledge can be delivered through 3D immersive content. Shaohuan will share more details about his new VR education startup, Vito Technologies, that he's building with partner Jiang Kuo, and how they are adopting VR into education and learning initiatives. They’ll also provide a demo of their latest project, ‘Project Arctic’.

8.05 pm - “Designing for VR: User Experience Principles to Consider” - Khai Seng Hong / Foolproof

Khai Seng from the Singapore team of UX design agency Foolproof will share their team's learnings in designing for frictionless and user friendly experiences and how that can be applied to VR and 360 video.

8.20 pm - “Bringing Virtual Reality to the Next Level: Oculus Rift DK2 and Eye Tracking” - Fan Jie / Newrocare Technology

Fan Jie will explain what new eye tracking technology means to virtual reality, particularly its integration within the Oculus Rift DK2. He’ll also provide a demo and trial of this new technology.

8.35 pm - HTC Vive / Project Tango+Cardboard demo - Jia Hen / VRcollab.com

Naturally we saved a very special experience to last — everyone is invited to join Jia at his office to demo the new HTC Vive, learn more about Project Tango (http://www.morningnewsusa.com/google-lenovo-project-tango-will-launch-july-2360075.html) and upcoming VR events for the developer community.
