The NYC Asterisk Meet-Up is a gathering for individuals who are interested in the Asterisk open source Ip-PBX and its implications on how businesses purchase and use telecommunications systems.
While all who share an interest in this technology are welcome, the NYC Asterisk Meet-Up will pay particular attention Asterisk's development as a viable competitor to commercial telephony solutions. Those with professional experience developing, implementing, and supporting Asterisk-based systems are especially encouraged to come and share their unique vantage.
We will certainly spend ample time on Asterisk's technical and feature development, but this meet-up is not just for the experienced technologist. We welcome business & IT decision makers, those who have an interest in the evolution of commercial open source, people curious about VoIP and folks who are just plain sick of the traditional Telcom players' status quo.
Members are encouraged to become involved with the Asterisk community and the group will help plot the agenda of the monthly Meet-Ups. Meeting duration of 90 minutes will be split between monthly formal presentations and informal discussion. If you have something you would like to present, or a recommendation for a good speaker; please submit them to the moderator.
