Astronomy Lecture/Telescope Workshop/Telescope Sale

Speaker: Dr. Stanley Greenspoon, long-time RASC member and professor emeritus from Capilano University

Topic: What's new in the search for exoplanets and extraterrestrial life

Location: Simon Fraser University Room SWH10081. See map here (http://files.meetup.com/1276587/SFU-SWH10081-Directions.pdf).

Dr. Greenspoon's lecture will be followed by a brief demonstration by Council members on different types of telescopes with the opportunity for guests to ask questions.

This will be followed by a sale of gently used RASC telescopes.

Telescope Sale

We will be have a silent auction on several old telescopes and accessories that were part of the telescope loan program. We are doing this to clear space in the storage area and to raise funds for some new telescopes and mounts.

Below is a list of the items we plan to sell. In addition to this list there will be several eyepieces and odds-and-ends for sale.

There will be minimum bids. We may be able to issue tax receipts if the final bid amount exceeds the item’s value by a certain amount (if 80% of the bid is above the value of the amount, a receipt can be issued for the difference).

NOTE : ALL VALUES BELOW ARE APPROXIMATE VALUES. STARTING BIDS WILL BE LOWER.
