Annual Perseid Meteor Shower Watch at Aldergrove Regional Park

Details
Please join us to enjoy Metro Park's annual Perseid Meteor Shower Watch at Aldergrove Regional Park. It is the only night of the year that overnight camping is allowed in this park which makes this a very magical experience for all ages.
Metro Parks puts on a great event with lots of activities for all ages. There will be a Music Amphitheatre where an artist will play and sing ballads about the star mythology stories. There will be a wishing tree, crafts and face painting tent as well as a 1.175 km lantern walk through the park with an observing site manned by Pacific Telescopes as well as two other nature stations manned by Metro Park staff.
If you intend on bringing an RV you must be in your spot before 8pm. Tenters should try to be there by 8 as well.
Members of RASC and Fraser Valley Astronomy Club will have telescopes in the field south of the parking lot. We will be there as long as the weather co-operates. We will also be giving talks on various astronomy topics in our tent.
The Planetary Society as well as Science World will also have displays on hand.
The Elks will have a food concession and recycling station and plan to have a breakfast for the overnight campers. - Cash only
We do not charge for our portion of the event, however Metro Parks charges a nominal fee of $2 per head to cover toilet rentals etc.
Hope to see you.
Event is RAIN OR SHINE..
