How did you first hear about/find this group?

When I was AIGA President I reached out to this group in its early version. Then most recently, I convinced my friend, Mike Schinkel, to let me take it over.

Are you a Designer? Vendor? Client? Please tell us about your niche/expertise.

Vendor who used to be a designer: I have been recruiting designers and other creatives since 1997. I'm more consultant than pure headhunter. I had a 10-year stint as Creative Know-Who and AIGA Atlanta board member and, in September 2011, I took a full-time position with Cadence Group as Director of User Centered Design. Now I consult and recruit on User Experience, Information Architecture, and User Interface Design for websites, intranets, and other kinds of web-based information portals and applications.

How would you describe your career stage? (student, junior, mid-level, senior, manager, business owner, etc.)

Senior Manager

What interests you most about becoming a member? How much are you willing to participate? (attend meetings, online resources, help organize events...)

I can't help myself when it comes to trying to build pockets of community for designers that are connected to other pockets of community. I lead when necessary and support whenever possible. If you have an idea for an event you are willing to champion, I'm behind you 100%.

If you were to organize/lead a meeting for us someday, what would you do?

My new approach to this group is that in the absence of a program meeting an obvious need, let's just learn from each other through "show-and-tell." We work so often in silos and there is no shortage of other groups to choose from for programming. Maybe this is just a place to make a few connections and get a little input on whatever we are working on whenever our meeting date rolls around. We'll try it and see. If it doesn't work, we'll try something else.
