See the AIR announcement if you're curious what this is all about.
A small hands-on session on adding search to an existing application - from basic DB powered full-text search on to more advanced approaches like Elasticsearch.

Thanks everyone for coming out in spite of the rain. I'll be posting some notes, the video from yesterday, and updates on the topic tracker in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out.
On another note: I am now manning the AIR Lost & Found. If you dropped something at Industry, let me know.

Hey everybody -
This meetup is tonight, so I wanted to touch base on a few things:
* Kylie Stradley was gracious enough to prep a sample starting app, available at https://github.com/kyfast/search_app . This is a small enough group that you should be able to bring a laptop and work along if you'd like, so I'd encourage you to go ahead and clone down and set it up beforehand if you can.* We'll be relying on some specific features of Postgres and will be using some Elasticsearch, so you may want to go ahead and set those up as well (`brew install` or `sudo apt-get` should suffice). I'll be at Insightpool by 6:30, and would be glad to help with setup if needed.* This group is currently full, so if you won't be able to make it, please update your RSVP so that someone else might be able to sign up.
I look forward to seeing you there.
