This talk will focus on HTML5's rich audio capabilities. We'll start with the new audio element, though HTML5 Audio offers you much more than that! We'll look at HTML5's sound generating, sampling and manipulating capabilities and show (and hear!) its use in a variety of applications.

I just wanted to say there are still places available for the synthesiser workshop this Saturday. See http://petermunro.org/Courses/html5synthesiser.html for details.

And thanks for the feedback regarding interest! I get that it's a bit of a niche event... :)

    Hello,

First, I've decided to move the date for the "Build a Synthesiser" workshop. Details here: http://petermunro.org/Courses/html5synthesiser.html

Second, not a soul booked up! None. Zippo. Nada. It was intended to be a small event, but not just me... :-)

So, I need some help. Was the price too high? Is a "Build a Synthesiser" workshop not interesting or useful to you? Can't make the date? Is it me? :-) Or was there some other concern? Please let me know. This is the first workshop I've offered and I'm keen to offer you JS/HTML5 workshops that you want and need. So if I need to make it more affordable or change things, tell me what would make it appealing to _you_.

To make yourself heard, reply here, tweet @peter_munro, contact me via my website, petermunro.org, or text/call me on[masked] 1951. I'm looking forward to hearing anything you might have.
    Thanks,
    Peter

Really enjoyable talk. Play was at the heart of it. Much better than hearing about x codec works with y browser. There was even some crowd sourced music creation! Hope you can do another talk some time Peter

Looking at street view this place looks like it's in a garage (sketchy one possibly) - will it be hard to find you guys?

    April 3, 2013

    • Peter M.

It looks that way, but turn around in streetview and you'll see a doorway (to the left of some large black doors and an Asian market). That's the entrance to New Horizons.

I feel a bit silly asking this... but does anyone have a good quality pair of powered speakers or an amp+speaker combo they would be prepared to bring along?

I just realised it might be a bit tricky for 46 people to listen in on my headphones... ;-)

    April 3, 2013

    • Fintan

I can bring in speakers for you Peter although there are not particularly good quality just standard

      April 4, 2013

    • Peter M.

Fintan, thanks hugely for this - much appreciated. I've accepted another offer though so we won't need them. Looks like I have speakers coming out of my ears now... :-)
