We are a group of creative people who seek inspiration from nature. We visit places together for inspiration, and we take time to create and to share our creations while we're there.
Our events are structured as outings. We alternately hike and break for quiet time communing with nature and being creative. At the end of each break we'll share our creations with each other, when you're comfortable doing so.
All who seek creative inspiration from nature are welcome, whatever your art, whether you write fiction or non-fiction, poetry or prose, whether you draw, paint, sculpt, craft, photograph, compose music, dance, philosophize, or simply meditate in the presence of nature.
We'll also periodically hold workshops with Austin's gurus of outdoor creativity.
Our regular meetups are the first and third Sundays of the month. In these meetups we're free to go anywhere with our art, but we'll periodically hold other meetups as well with more focused creative explorations.
WE HAVE JUST A FEW SIMPLE RULES:
(1) Boredom is not allowed during our creative breaks. Be prepared to entertain yourself for however long we take.
(2) Please try to keep quiet during the breaks until we gather again for sharing. Many of us would like to spend the breaks listening to nature and to our inner muses. We do talk again when it's time to share, though!
(3) Dogs are not allowed on the hikes. Most of us love dogs, but we're out there to be creative, not to be distracted into playing with cute dogs. Many of the places we visit don't allow dogs anyway.
(4) Don't join us just to pick up dates. Join us if you're inspired by nature and will participate in our creative breaks. But if you're single and happen to meet that special person while you're out there, that's fantastic.
