Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

I'm self taught, both knitting and crocheting. I started knitting in 2004/5, so about six years. Only recently, however, have I gotten more serious.

What's your favorite fiber?

I always seem to end up with wool, but I'm starting to branch out.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

A hammock.

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

I don't see stopping anytime soon :)

Introduction

Since recently moving close to a good friend, who is an amazing knitter, and joining Ravelry my knitting has really moved to a new level. Knitting with others keeps me motivated and learning. So, I'm interested in expanding my social knitting circle.
