Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

My mom taught me when I was maybe 4 or 5 yrs old. She was right-handed, I'm left-handed, so I learned by watching her knit in a mirror that I held up to her hands. I tried teaching myself how to crochet, but would have made more progress learning Greek.

What's your favorite fiber?

I don't have a favorite fiber, but prefer natural ones to synthetic, cotton and silk over wool. I grew up in Houston so wearing knitted wool was pretty much a joke.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

A tarp for a lean-to and an SOS of some sort.

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

lol more like life-long therapy!

Hi! I've been knitting off and on for most of my life and thought I would get back into the knitting scene in Austin.
