Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

Knitting - i learned initially from my grandmother. When i went to university in Bellingham WA, 1995, we had to carpool 50 miles to get to there. A fellow carpooler was a knitter and my first project was socks!! Using three needles!! I had no idea this was an advanced project; but i haven't been able to complete another pair without her :-( i am currently working on dish towels for my mom and the pattern calls for knitting so I am happy to do something small that i know I can finish, on my own.

What's your favorite fiber?

I think cotton. I crochet rag rugs moreso than knitting, and love seeing and mixing different pattern s to make something that i consider pretty and that can also be useful. I have them in bathrooms, kitchen and right next to the doggie door to help with wet paws.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

I am SUCH a scarf person. I know that you wouldn't need a scarf on an island but i could make them and send them as gifts!

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

Lifelong!!

In which part of Austin do you live? (N, NW, Central, S, SW, Lakeway, Cedar Park, etc.)

Introduction

Hi! I have been knitting and crocheting for some time and would LOVE to join this group. This is such a great way to meet people who share the same interests. I live in Cedar Park so the location is nice and close - finally!!!
