Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

My great grandmother "taught" me to crochet by handing me yarn and a hook. I honestly can't remember when I didn't know how to crochet. I was ~12 when I learned to knit. My grandmother helped me with a Vogue pattern when I made my first sweater.

What's your favorite fiber?

the softer the better.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

A giant flag to signal for help!

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

It comes and goes in waves for me. Some projects stay unfinished for months on end. Other times, I'll do entire projects in a weekend.
