Let's Fall into October AWPUG

Hey all,

After a one month hiatus it's AWPUG time once again! Come by early for food and drinks sponsored by our friends at uStudio! We'll get the program started around 7pm.

This month we'll be hearing from Ramesh Sampath, cofounder of Engineroom360 and A(W)PUG regular. Ramesh will talk us through his recent experiences building and deploying a production ready Flask app.

Be sure to save up some lightning as well so you can let it all out during our lightning talks. This is your time to share info about a project or tool, talk about something you've learned recently, tell jokes, or make a room full of people listen to you for any other reason at all.

Afterwards, in our usual tradition, we'll retire to one of downtown Austin's nerd-friendly drinking establishments for some more fun and Python.

See you there!!

Here are the two git repositories I used in my Fask task.

My plan for the talk is to give an intro to going from Idea to Deployment using Flask. I have been using Flask every day for just over 3 weeks now. We use WebFaction for hosting not because they are scalable, but because it's easy to deploy a Flask App. This will mostly be an intro talk on the various things we use in Flask and how you might use for your weekend projects.

I have used Heroku just a bit in the past when doing tutorial rails applications, but wanted to get little bit closer to the metal and went with WebFaction. I will focus mostly about building Flask Apps and deploy to WebFaction in the end, but you could choose to deploy it in Heroku. Heroku has excellent documentation on deploying a Flask Apps - https://devcenter.hero....
