1st Ever AWPUG Meetup
Details
Get excited kids! It's the 1st ever, 1st annual April AWPUG meetup!
Why should you be excited? Let me count the ways:
We're going to have some amazing presentations. Mr. Travis Swicegood (https://github.com/tswicegood) is going to go through some of the greatness that has happened in Django 1.3 (http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/releases/1.3/). If that wasn't enough, Mr. Josh Marshall (https://github.com/joshmarshall) will be giving us a primer course on using Tornado (http://www.tornadoweb.org/). Each presentation will be around 30 minutes, with plenty of time for Q&A. We're giving away stuff! Besides the typical pizza and beer during the presentations, we'll be giving away a few books and discounts during our very experimental "Ask a funny question" part of the meetup. We're drinking. We'll be heading down to the local watering hole after the meetup to talk a bit more over a few drinks. One of our sponsors has graciously offered to pick up the first $100 of the tab, so you should be able to get full and a little buzzed for free! Going forward, count on our meetings being the 4th Thursday of the month at the Texas Tribune. The meeting will informally kick off at 6:30 and the presentations will start at 7. Don't be afraid to sneak in late if you can't make it there that early. If you have Python-related job openings, want to sponsor a meetup, have ideas for presentations, or want to give a presentation please let me know. Presenters always drink for free after the meetup :) Follow us at @awpug (http://twitter.com/awpug)...it's very low traffic and it's the easiest way to stay up to date on the meeting details.
