It will be a bit before we get the video uploaded.

Another Thank You to Dana, Cory, and Bobbie for sharing your time and knowledge. The clear explanations, especially by Cory, provided several revelations for me of how Wordpress works. For instance, I think the Posts vs Pages and Categories vs Tags discussion was one very appropriate to your audience level and a very helpful topic. I also understand plugins and their value much better now. As Bobbie demonstrated some of the new features of the 2013 theme, I didn't hear her actually explain its purpose, but it dawned on me--finally--what "2013" is (and "2012," which I had heard mentioned in previous meetups), and then a lot of other information suddenly made sense.

    Thanks, again.

Corey and Bobbie did a great job of going over the Dashboard and Post Formats, Q&A. If the questions could be repeated, that would be a help, as I frequently do not hear them.

Excellent all around. In particular I want to give a thumbs up to Cory and his presentation. So many times meetings like this have presenters who pay no attention to the level of expertise of the audience. Cory was very aware of that and even polled the members at one point to see if he was being to advanced or too basic. That's the way it should be done.

While the UI changes for post formats has been removed in 3.6, the actual post formats will still be included in WordPress 3.6, just in their usual spot inside the post editor.

This looks like an advanced topic and I'm still a beginner. Plus I just found this - http://wpmu.org/wordpress-kills-post-formats-ui-for-3-6-release/

This topic - and all meetups classified under the "Focus on Content" header will be talking about how to better use WordPress to produce content (blogging, writing content, images, etc). The idea on post formats was a way to change how you posted your content (status update vs other things). Since that's been pulled, this will be a more general using WP topic with lots of time for questions.

On the topic of Post Formats being pulled from 3.6, here's info straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak:
    http://make.wordpress.org/core/2013/05/29/post-formats-ui-is-exiting-core-will-live-as-a-plugin/

In addition to the general discussion about the Dashboard/tips and tricks (which can always be useful!) we could spend a few minutes on MP6. It's a redesign of the Dashboard, essentially, and is live for users on WordPress.com as of yesterday, and available for .org users via a plugin, http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/mp6/.
