WordPress.org Happy Hour

Details

To celebrate the Austin meetup joining the official WordPress meetup.com chapter account, WordPress is hosting a happy hour (or two)!

Who's Throwing This Party?

The Automattic "dot org team," the group of people that Automattic donates to work on the WordPress open source project full-time, will be in town for a team meeting with some extra special guests from the core team and the contributor community, and they'll be the ones hosting this shindig. The group of WP visitors includes Andrea Middleton, Jen Mylo, Andrew Ozz, Andrew Nacin, Rebecca Collins, Konstantin Kovshenin, Mel Choyce, Scott Reilly, Cami Kaos, Ian Dunn, Mark Jaquith, Helen Hou-Sandi, Gregory Cornelius, Yoav Farhi, and possibly Ryan Boren --- basically a bunch of the folks who run the core team, the WordCamp and Meetup programs, and the wordpress.org site. They'll provide pitchers of beer and non-alcoholic beverages, and some light appetizers, and are excited to connect with the local community, especially folks interested in contributing to the WordPress project.

How Do We Find Them?

There'll be a table with a big W logo sign where you should check in; we'll be giving out buttons and name stickers so we can tell who's with the group. If you want to wear a WordPress or WordCamp shirt, that'd be great, but isn't necessary since we'll have the check-in table.

Timing

Note the earlyish time: the intention here is to celebrate and say hello, not to take over everyone's dinner plans, so we tried to pick a time span that would allow people who needed to get home for dinner with their families to still stop by. The WP visitors will be there for the full 2 hours, but everyone else can come and go as their schedules suit.

Hope to see you then!
