Welcome to the Pittsburgh Autism/Asperger’s Discussion Group and Social Meetup!
This support group is a Discussion Group and Social Outings Group for adults eighteen and older who are on the autism spectrum and live in or near the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area.
This group is sponsored by the Advisory Board on Autism and Related Disorders (ABOARD). You can visit ABOARD's web site at: http://www.aboard.org
About The Discussion Group:
The Discussion Group is a social group for adults on the autism spectrum who want to have friendly and supportive conversations with other adults on the spectrum. It is not a therapy group or a support group.
The Discussion Group is run and facilitated by Rebecca Klaw. The group is sometimes led by co-facilitator, April Artz. Occasionally, the group features speakers who provide information that is useful to people on the spectrum.
This group meets in Squirrel Hill twice per month, on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.
After every meeting, group members are invited to gather at local restaurants to continue their conversation and socialization.
About the Social Outings Group:
The Social Outings Group is for adults on the autism spectrum who want to participate in social events in a friendly and supportive environment.
Our events often include potlucks, visits to local museums, trips to Kennywood, and sponsored walks. The Social Outings Group usually schedules one social outing per month.
The Social Outings Group is facilitated by Heather Conroy and Janice Nathan. Group members are encouraged to suggest social outings that they would like to participate in for future events.
