Mapping with Hacks/Hackers

Hi everyone! I was talking with Hacks/Hackers Boston - they are a bunch of journalists (hacks) and hackers pushing forward data journalism - and they're interested in getting some speakers who can talk about - our favorite thing - MAPPING.

They are especially interested in hearing about open source tools for handling geographic data and mapping it out. I daresay that they're also more interested in the front end of web mapping rather than with technical backend database stuff. (Though I wouldn't rule out static maps as well.. does anyone still do that these days?). We're going for accessible here.

The Hacks/Hackers meetings often attract a large audience from all over New England! So if you'd be interested in enlightening this group (whether with a lecture, demo, workshop, panel, etc), or if you know someone who might be interested, PLEASE get in touch (in this thread) and I can hook you up with my contact from the Boston Globe.

Can't wait to see some of you Thursday!
