The Hamburg AWS User Group meets every month to discuss and share topics around the AWS Cloud.

We are a group of AWS users with very different experiences and backgrounds but want to learn from each other and welcome everybody from a Cloud Newbie to experienced user.

As this group is based on the principle that content should primarily come from within the group and for the group we are always looking for people who would like to share their stories or provide a location where we can meet. Lessons Learned from Migrating 500+ CloudFormation Stacks All at Once
Ever wondered which challenges you encounter when migrating 500+ CloudFormation stacks in a single move? We did exactly that and share what we've learned:
- why we chose an "all-at-once" migration strategy instead of a step by step approach,
- what risks we identified ahead of time,
- and the unexpected challenges we encountered along the way.
This specifically covers challenges with deleting and importing CloudFormation resources and reaching certain AWS limits. In the end, we'll share which improvements could have saved us some time and nerves. If you’re a developer working with CloudFormation (or infrastructure as code in general) and looking for practical insights, this talk is for you!
