How about the 2nd Tuesday of each month at Positive Vibe cafe'?

Also, Klaus and I would be happy to host meetings (or social mixers) in our new home; if that would be of interest.

Although I am a new member to this group and so far have not attended a meeting I would also cast my affirmative vote.  I have a conflict on Monday evenings and would prefer another meeting night.  I have sampled this restaurant’s cuisine and find it quite enjoyable.  And then there is the positive aspect, as Annie stated, of supporting, in a very constructive way, those that face some challenges while offering a good value to the community.

Subject: [aynrand-167] Possible new meeting location

Hi, all!

Eriks, Scott & I stumbled upon a possible new site for our monthly meetings today: Positive Vibe Cafe.

Positive Vibe has two private meeting rooms. The vault (a genuine bank vault - how appropriate!) is suitable if our numbers are low, as it seats 8 people. If we have more people, we can reserve their larger room.

Eriks pointed out that this is an appropriate venue for us because Positive Vibe Cafe is an example of how benevolence can create positive opportunities for the disadvantaged without government intervention (my phrasing, not Eriks), since Positive Vibe's mission is to train disabled people for employment within the food industry (using restaurant profits, volunteer workers, and voluntary contributions rather than [as far as we know] government funds].

The food is very good, and entrees range from $8.50 - $20 (a couple dollars more expensive than Home Team Grill, although appetizers, salads, and soups are available for less).

The location is good, too, since it's just off of the Powhite Parkway, making it easily accessible to all.

The only glitch is that we would need to change our meeting night, as they are closed on Mondays. As I recall from discussion at the last meeting, however, this is indeed a possibility.

For more information, you can check out www.positivevibecafe.com.

What d'ya think?

Annie
