Design Patterns for Modular JavaScript Development

UPDATE: Our topic this month has a lot of the same content as the Phoenix JavaScript meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Phoenix-JavaScript/events/118693412/) that just so happens to be the same day as ours. Brad Westfall (https://www.meetup.com/Phoenix-JavaScript/members/11081813/) noticed the overlap in content and after some exchanges we thought it would be beneficial to join forces for this topic. We'll be heading down to UAT in Tempe this month and joining up with the Phoenix JavaScript (https://www.meetup.com/Phoenix-JavaScript/) group.

How do you break your project into smaller modular JavaScript files/classes to maximize re-usability and to minimize tight coupling?

We'll discuss the pros and cons of different design patterns and how different frameworks try to solve this common problem area of software design and development.
