Fantastic exchange of perspectives - but the real question was - Is ColdFusion Dying with other technologies becoming "easier" and appearing free - or are many ColdFusion developer stuck doing procedural coding and not moving forward doing OOP CF coding as well as being knowledgeable of supporting software engineering skills like frameworks, design patterns, automation, unit testing, version control, etc. Also is a CF developer really a kind of Java developer or visa versa? So many wonderful sharing and questions last night - wish we recorded it! I am sure there is more to come on this topic ... Loved this meeting! I won the book last night - Object-Oriented Programming in ColdFusion by Matt Gifford - which will add to my life long learning - thank you to the great panel and attendee participation.

Very thought provoking discussion regarding the state of ColdFusion as a viable language and development platform. Thanks again to Sean Corfield, Tariq Ahmed and Nolan Erck for sharing their viewpoints and discussing the issues with all of us.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
