Monthly Meetup

  • Mar 19, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • Social Growth Technologies, Inc

We'll be meeting at the SGT offices in Columbia while the Beehive moves locations. As always, we'll be eating pizza, drinking beer and soda, and talking python.

Timothy Crosley and Brandon Hoffman will give two talks about two projects:

1. Building, testing and distributing Android and IOS apps using Python.

2. Introduce "The DOM" a new way to think about web-development: bringing angular's single source-of-truth server-side.

Very nice presentation. Congrats to Brandon and Tim (or do you go by Timothy?).

Thanks Lewis! Really I'm fine with anything as long as it starts with Tim (Timothy, Timmy, etc)

As if I don't do enough different things already, you got me started doing some mobile app development! I got an idea during your presentation, and now I want to implement it. Not using kivy - want to learn how to do it down and dirty with Objective C first. We'll see if I can find the time to see this project through.

I couldn't locate the swimming sonification video I mentioned this evening because it isn't on Youtube! Thomas Hermann sent it to me, so it's not online, and I assume he doesn't want it online. Instead, here's a jumping sonification.

... and here's one on sonifying the solar wind.

    Hi Patrick,

I would like to present 2 topics for next months meeting, with the help of Brandon Hoffman (as he is working with me on both presentations).

    1. Building, testing, and distributing an Android and IOS apps using Python. I will be using cross-platform game that Brandon and I built to illustrate the process.

    2. Introduce "The DOM" a new way to think about web-development: bringing angular's single source-of-truth server-side.

I'll try to keep both of these short and to the point - under 20 minutes for each.

Sounds great! I'll change the description for next month's meetup. Let me know if you need any help/resources.
