Monthly Meetup

We'll be eating pizza, drinking beer/soda, and talking python. This month's talk is an open discussion on best practices and productivity insights. Overachievers are encouraged to prepare a few slides on tools and methods they use.

I thought this was relevant since a discussion on "why not to use south" came up last meetup. http://andrewingram.net/2012/dec/common-pitfalls-django-south/
also if you guys like to stay up to date on python: http://pycoders.com/
it is a cool weekly newsletter that includes notable projects, articles, and tutorials!

A good blog entry providing a taxonomy of NoSQL DBMS, as well as an explanation of the CAP Theorem, can be found at:

I'm trying to figure this out too. I think I'm at the entrance but the door's locked.

I walked in after someone who was leaving, got in the elevator, the elevator wouldn't let me go to the third floor. It was awkward and I gave up and went back outside.

Hey Everyone, I'm going to move this month's meeting to next week to accommodate the holiday. Since no one has come up with a talk, I propose we do a hack-night and share best practices and tools. Over-achievers are encouraged to prepare a few slides to show off their tricks.

What about doing an open Python hack session instead of a presentation? One hacking group could build a blog for the beginners.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
