Robert Treat is the COO of OmniTI (http://www.omniti.com). He is an experienced open source developer and advocate, using his skills to implement web sites and web-based applications for over a decade. He is an international speaker on databases, open source, and managing operations at scale. He has worked on numerous open source projects over the years, and has been recognized as a Major Contributor to Postgres for his work.
Mostly known as "the other open source database", Postgres is a worldclass relational database system used in top tech companies, new startups, government agencies, and a host of other environments. Whilealready known for it's ability to scale, the upcoming 9.2 release further pushes the limits for what you can do with this open sourcedatabase. In this talk we'll cover some of the new things coming with Postgres 9.2, from new features to performance improvements, and we'lltake any questions you might have about working with Postgres.
