Join us for Quantopian/Python code wrestling.

Quantopian.com allows you to create a free account.

Then, you use that account to write and run Python code on their servers using a browser.

Their Python environment is designed for studying stock trading strategies.

Also they provide a community.

There, you share knowledge about the intersection of financial markets and technology.

At this Meetup you only need to bring a laptop which has WIFI.

You dont need to install or setup anything on your laptop.

If you have an extension cord, bring that too.

At the Meetup we will breakup into small teams and write/run Python code on Quantopian servers.

We have no presentation planned.

It is just Meetup and code.

The public WIFI at Stanford is high quality so we will meet at Stanford.

I encourage you to create a Quantopian account now.

Then study the training material at quantopian.com

Also study the discussions in their community.

Note that we will Meetup at Stanford on the first floor of a building called 'Tressider'.

Tressider is one of the main buildings at the center of Stanford campus.

Tressider has a Starbucks and several places to buy hot/cold food.

If possible, please bring a long extension cord for your laptop.

I will try to get us tables near power outlets near the large windows.

Note that Stanford is huge and it is easy to get lost.

I suggest you bring a printed map.

If you do get lost, keep asking students 'where is Tressider?' until you find it.

All Stanford students know where Tressider is.

On Sunday, they have free parking.

I usually park on Mayfield Ave.

Mayfield connects with Campus Drive East.

Campus Drive circles the campus and connects with many roads in.

Once you find the first floor at Tressider, scan the area near the windows and power outlets.

I will be wearing a Red Hat.

Hopefully I will have a table there.
