November Meetup: cout is out — Why you should not use iostreams

Sebastian Theophil will be speaking at the November meeting about std::iostream, see below. Seems to get really interesting. We start as usual at 7 p.m. The talk starts at 8 p.m.

Abstract:
We’ve only recently begun to port our software to other platforms. In this process, we discovered the world of pain that are iostreams and C-style I/O. I’d like to give a short overview over why we’ve banished iostreams from our code base and what we’ve replaced them with. I’d also like to use my talk to hear about your experiences. I know many of you must have struggled with the same issues for longer than we have. Maybe your solutions are better than ours.
