Lindsey's Story
Lindsey was a vibrant, healthy and active 17 year old senior at Highlands Christian Academy. All of that changed in the blink of an eye. On September 12th, Lindsey was admitted to the Pediatric ICU at Broward General Hospital in severe respiratory distress. What began as a fever and flu symptoms very quickly progressed to respiratory failure. She currently is breathing with support from a ventilator. The cause still remains unknown, and her prognosis is unclear. While we hope and pray that her lungs heal completely, the worst-case scenario would be a bi-lateral lung transplant. Nevertheless, the road to her recovery will be long and full of challenges for both her and her family.
Lindsey is an amazing young woman, juggling school, volleyball, a job, family and many friends. In her family she is the brass ring, the one that glues them together. Lindsey has a heart of gold, and is always willing to go out of her way to help others. She is STRONG and has FAITH. We know she will give this all the fight she can muster.
