Data Science using Big R for in-Hadoop Analytics

R is a popular programming language and environment for data science. This Meetup introduces Big R, the end-to-end integration of R into Hadoop using IBM BigInsights (aka IBM's hadoop distribution). Big R allows R users to seamlessly access and manipulate data in HDFS using R's familiar programming syntax and paradigm. In this Meetup, you'll learn how to perform tasks such as data exploration, transformation, statistical analysis, modeling, and visualization at scale without resorting to map/reduce constructs or unfamiliar scripting languages. For machine learning tasks such as regression, classification, or clustering over extremely large data sets, this Meetup will also demonstrate an upcoming technology in Big R to run scalable machine learning algorithms. We will also show a demo of connecting and running R jobs on Hadoop and provide you pointers on how to get started.
