25th Big Data London Meetup - with S2DS at University of Westminster

We are back on September 4th for an exciting event!

We're very pleased to team with the S2DS Science to Data Science programme for the 25th edition of the Big Data London meetup with a very exciting set of speakers.

• S2DS (http://www.s2ds.org/) programme finalists: The four best performed teams from the 2014 cohort will present their output from real-world commercial data science projects. The 85 S2DS participants, all PhDs from analytical backgrounds, worked in teams on projects proposed and mentored by the 23 S2DS commercial partners. These partners included KPMG, Royal Mail, Hortonworks, Digital Shadows and import.io. The projects are all Big Data related and span the entire Data Science space from coding graph databases, via predictive analytics and machine learning, to data visualisations and data consultancy.

The best of these four S2DS teams will be awarded the KPMG Prize for Excellence, and all shortlisted teams will present their work at this event. It will be an interesting evening hearing about real business use cases, and how these analytical PhDs approached the problems presented by the partner firms.

Science to Data Science (http://www.s2ds.org/): S2DS is Europe's largest PhD-to-Data Science training programme. The first programme is running this August with 85 analytical PhDs from 24 nationalities and very diverse backgrounds. The emphasis of the programme is on commercial skills, with participants working in teams on real commercial projects proposed and mentored by 22 partner companies, including KPMG, Royal Mail and Digital Shadows.
