Big Data DC - June Edition

Join us for another installment of Big Data DC! Once again we are lucky to have two great presenters for this meetup.

Craig Vitter will talk about how he has combined a particular combination of open source solutions into a specific stack that they bring to public-sector clients, and manage their contributions back into the open source community. Using IKANOW's particular perspective as an integrator of many big data building blocks, he will discuss how they have combined technologies to solve real-world use-cases in the public sector on a constantly evolving open source stack.

David Rosenthal, co-founder of NoSQL start-up FoundationDB, will talk about the load balancing techniques they have investigated over the past three years while developing their distributed database.

The agenda will be as usual:

6:30-7:00: meet, greet, & eat 7:00-7:15: welcome, announcements, & introductions 7:15-8:45: presentation sessions 8:45-9:15: networking, etc. Beer will be provided by Clearspring.
