The Bitcoin Alliance of Canada (http://www.bitcoinalliance.ca) is a federally registered non-profit organization of Bitcoin enthusiasts dedicated: to raising awareness of bitcoin among Canadian consumers, merchants, businesses, regulators, and policy makers; to promoting bitcoin
adoption in Canada; to further Canadian and international study and research into bitcoin and virtual currencies; and, to promoting Canadian participation in international partnerships,associations, and other efforts to promote, study, research, and discuss bitcoin and other virtual currencies.

Bitcoin can be difficult to understand and communicate, but it doesn't need to be. Come to get the inside perspective and latest insight from those with the knowledge, experience and expertise that comes from launching businesses and having broken new ground in this burgeoning industry.

From the subtleties of the protocol, to inside perspective on starting a business in this fast paced and dynamic environment, to the future of crypto-currencies in global finance, you will get all the latest information to bring you up to speed on the most disruptive technology in the world.

We will be having three presentations from prominent and successful members in the Bitcoin community. These business leaders have all had to research and understand an area of this tehnology to great depth in order to understand the challenges and risks that a new business faces in this industry, and on this evening they will share that knowledge to help you take advantage and be a part of the next technology boom.

Robert David: "The Bitcoin Primer"

Event host and founder of the Vancouver Bitcoin meetup, Robert is a tech entrepreneur dating back to the dotcom boom. Having now founded Mymoneycloud.com (http://mymoneycloud.com), the worlds first Bitcoin payment service and "coinless" key management system, Robert is using this disruptive approach to bitcoin itself to bring crypto-currencies into the mainstream.

Jesse Heaslip: "Bitcoin Startup Ecosystem"

Jesse Heaslip is a prominent figure in the Vancouver technology community having founded both the Vancouver Pixelcrafters (http://pixelcrafters.ca) meetup as well as Launch Academy (http://launchacademy.ca). Now Jessie is now working on the leading edge of Bitcoin technology through the founding of Bex.io (http://bex.io) a white-label Digital Currency Exchange as a Service. Bex.io provides the technology for digital currency companies around the world to focus on the operations of running an exchange. We split the net income on transaction fees with our partners. In 2014, Bex will link it's partner exchanges to create a global pool of digital liquidity.

Johann Gevers: "The Four Pillars of a Decentralized Society"

An entrepreneur with international experience and a background in finance, Johann is a co-founder of Monetas.net (http://monetas.net), the company deploying next generation Open-Transaction technology; the most advanced system for financial and legal transactions.
