Bestie Round #3: Cold Comfort

It used to get pretty hot and stuffy inside Bestie, so we waited until it got colder to host this event, again. Come inside and rejuvenate yourself with an authentic German mug of beer with sausage! As usual, they take Bitcoin. You'll notice this event occurs at a strange time; this is because we get the restaurant almost all to ourselves at this time. This place is extremely popular, so that took some finagling to accomplish. If 3 PM is too early in the day for you to intoxicate yourself, you don't have to, but I probably will, and it might be fun. Most of those attending will probably be students, people who work for themselves or from home, or people who are already independently wealthy because of Bitcoin.

Those of you without enough satoshis may still order using cash, debit or credit, but the topic of today will definitely be Bitcoin! Do you have any bitcoins? How did you make them? What do you like about Bitcoin, and how far do you see bitcoins spreading further down the road? We can discuss ideas for the future, for both our Meet Up and the currency revolution, and the tech-savvy can share their projects and thoughts. It will be a fun night shared among like-minded individuals!

There will be NO automatic gratuity tonight, so PLEASE remember to tip your waiter or waitress if you had a good time. As usual, you must be at least 19 years old or older to attend. If you intend to order drinks, please remember that you need two valid pieces of identification, and that at least one of your IDs must show your photo. If on the day of the event you have any problems (lost, can't get in), feel free to text me at 778.918.7156.

just like you would trust anyone. Nice site, email. Not much more you can do. Can't check the BBB right. ITs a brilliant way to scam though. The only reason I am not jumping off a bridge is because I have been buying BTC for over 2 years when people never knew about them. I must have been one of the first in Vancouver to start buying them cuz at the time, nobody had heard of them. Oh well... just gotta make more now. Lesson learned.

You got scammed by a TOR escrow service. I wouldn't call it a brilliant scam. In the future, I suggest not trusting strangers over the internet with your money... particularly those with a mostly unknown TOR site.

    $1000 reward

I caution people using BTC. I lost 10k in value of BTC because of using a poor escrow service. Unlike Visa and Mastercard, BTC does not have an insurance policy. If anyone can hunt this person down who started this escrow. I will give you $1000 if our funds are released. https://onionbc3navouar6.onion.to/

Any particular reason why you trusted this guy's escrow service? Wondering about his advertising methods, how he found victims.

Hi everyone... Does anyone know the owner of this site: https://onionbc3navouar6.onion.to/

I have BTC in escrow and can't access them. I need to get ahold of this owner or they will be lost forever. [masked]

Please help. I do not want to lose these coins.

Sorry I took so long to respond. I'm not sure if I can help, though. The website and email address you provided are both through Tor, meaning it may be impossible to trace the culprit. It's always good to know what you're doing and trade safely, but hindsight is 20/20. Do you have any more information about the incident?

It was interesting to see the place be so packed. In comparison to summer, Bestie is more bearable at our current weather.

That being said, the place was quite loud - I think if we will be having this many people AND interviews on top of that, we should turn off the music completely.

Very nice! Met some friendly and informed people that helped me understand a bit more about bitcoin. I will definately go to the next meetup!

Please do not hesitate to RSVP even if all of the RSVPs are taken; you will be next in line if somebody changes his or her mind. I have increased the cap by 5 to gauge user interest. If you RSVP and do not show up, I will send your email address to all of the people who were on the waiting list in response to any complaints resulting. If user interest meets a certain level, I will attempt to make special accommodations for us (but no promises).

Due to popular demand, I have raised the RSVP cap for this event to 30 people. This means it will be crowded and we're going to try to take over the whole venue. Please behave yourselves and keep in mind that I will have some very special guests joining us this day. No news interviews for troublemakers ;)
