Inspired by the ugly results of the Kiri Davis Doll test, on Oprah May 28, 2007, a pretty...philanthropic social club and movement called The Black Doll Affair [BDA] was born!

Watch the short clip of Kiri on Oprah, by clicking the About Us link in the top left corner of this page.

With Kiri's Doll test and the original 1940s doll test, black children identified black dolls as bad and white dolls as good. Proving that segregation, prejudice, and discrimination caused them to develop a sense of inferiority and self-hatred... even today. Our club is not a charity, and yet our affairs are grounded in Philanthropy and Love! A social club of black women called the "Black Dolls," some Black Dolls are fashion models, others are volunteer role models. Hence the club slogan, "We're pretty...philanthropic!"

The Black Doll's motto is, "Be a Doll, give a doll!" With that in mind, their mission is to have their inner beauty as philanthropists and outer beauty as models, combined with the gift of a pretty toy black doll, act as a mirror, which reflects a positive image to young black girls. With Chapters in Georgia. Florida and Washington DC, black male members are Brothas and non-black members are Porcelain Pals. Our Meetups are Play dates where members gather on volunteer projects and social fun!

Become a Black Doll, it feels good to be Black and give Back! Here's how: First, "Join" this Meetup, then await approval from our Founder.
