About the Talk: Mike will talk about the Ruby gems that he likes best. He will introduce us to some old favorites (like Devise) and some stuff that he is just discovering (like Puma, Sextant, Domino). He will also talk about how to use internal gems to keep your app code modular. 30 minutes
About the Speaker: Mike Subelsky (http://www.subelsky.com/) is a programmer and web entrepreneur based in Baltimore. He is currently building the Ruby startup AdStaq.com (http://adstaq.com/), and has helped found OtherInbox.com (http://otherinbox.com/) (now part of ReturnPath), Ignite Baltimore, the Baltimore Hackathon, and the Baltimore Improv Group, and is an advisor to local tech companies like Common Curriculum. He also served as a U.S. Navy cryptologic officer for seven years in a variety of domestic and overseas assignments.
