Welcome!

This club honors the practice of reading - for learning, education, and also just for fun. We readers know that anyone who learns to love to read has a lifetime skill. We have a hobby. We have a pastime. We know how to be alone. We have something to do while we wait in line. We are never, ever bored.

I believe in the power of the printed word. For example, A book club is also an excellent way to promote a culture of learning, literacy and the value of the life of the mind.

With ongoing book discussions. Meaningful exchanges in person and public events. Online for all member's use. There are places for announcements, reviews, bestseller lists and so on. Use it. Use the calendar, post your thoughts, books, ideas and such. I want to hear about story times, poetry slams, school book fairs and so on. It's yours. Use it to promote your ideas about the books we read, and anything about words and reading.
