We're one week out from the mid-summer hoe-down, also known as The 5th Annual Tractor Tavern Old Fashioned Bluegrass Event!
This is a yearly event that benefits New Beginnings women's shelter and brings the community together to break bread, share food, enjoy some music and support a great cause.
This year our featured bands will be Northern Departure and Hot Club Sandwich.
Northern Departure is a local bluegrass band made up of four very young and talented musicians that have already made their mark in the Seattle bluegrass scene as finalists in EMP's Sound Off! battle of underage bands. Their tight harmonies and blazing fast solos make this band a must-see for any lover of bluegrass!
Hot Club Sandwich has been at the forefront of the Seattle Gypsy Jazz scene for several years, playing originals and favorites of the 1920s-40s. Their CDs have ranked in the top 20 in the college jazz polls and they have enjoyed national and international acclaim.
We also have some great sponsors this year that are donating some nice things for us to raffle. These sponsors (listed alphabetically) include:
Audiologics Studios - 4 hours of recording
Dusty Strings - Ukulele, t-shirts
Lynnwood Harley Davidson - Oil Change, Tune Up, HD memorabelia
Seattle Ski & Snowboard - ski tune-up, weekend demo pkg, t-shirts & hoodies
Stevens Pass - 4 weekday lift tickets
Sturtevants - Tennis racket, ski tune-ups
We'll do 3 separate raffle categories (ski/sports, music, motorcycles) so you can increase the chance of getting something you want.
This last week is crunch week, so help me get the word out by making a copy of the poster
and inviting as many of your friends as you can by cross posting to your other meetup or facebook pages.
I'm still in need of a portable BBQ. If anybody can bring one (or more) of them, we can BBQ on the back deck again, if we can't appropriate one, we'll do the traditional potluck without the BBQ. Email me if you can assist on this end. If you can't think of a dish to bring, there is always a need for plastic cutlery, paper towels, plates, etc.
See you at The Tractor next Sunday and thanks again for all of your support!
Check it out!
