You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
Bootlaw is a free boot camp for emerging technology, internet and digital professionals who want to learn more about the legal issues they face, brought to you by Barry Vitou and Danvers Baillieu the friendly lawyers at Winston & Strawn in London.
Bootlaw is relevant to emerging technology, internet or digital businesses. For regular updates on forthcoming events and other legal news, follow our twitter feeds: @bootlaw, @bazv & @danversbaillieu.
We're happy to say that we've already generated a buzz in the tech community - as you can see from our press and bloggage page.
Once a month at our offices in London we're hosting an evening where we'll cover business questions and their legal ramifications from a pragmatic and practical standpoint. More importantly, we'll also have beer and pizza to keep us going. The evenings will be informative and fun and are intended to put something useful back into the emerging technology and digital ecosystem by enabling emerging technology, internet and digital professionals to make informed decisions about legal issues which arise on a day to day basis - without unnecessarily racking up legal bills. Of course, if a tough question ever does arise, and you do need some formal legal advice, Barry and Danvers are only a phone call or a twitter away.
You can see from the "past meetings" page that we've already covered a range of issues.
Other issues we're going to cover in the future include:
*How to deal with legal issues whilst bootstrapping your business
*Mergers and Acquisitions
*Directors Responsibilities
*Stock Option Plans
*Negotiating with VCs
Let us know if you think we've missed anything and let us know what you, the members, would like us to cover and we'll add it to the list.
Membership of Bootlaw is at the discretion of the organisers and attendance at Bootlaw for members is first come first served. We are now oversubscribed so please RSVP well in advance in order to secure your spot at a Bootlaw event - but if your plans change PLEASE change your RSVP to free up a spot for another member
