On 16 November, we're going to be talking about all things to do with issuing shares or share options to your employees, advisors, contractors or new business partner - basically anyone except an investor.

We'll be hearing from Suzannah Crookes, who is a lawyer from our Leeds office, who has advised many start ups (and a few Bootlaw regulars) on setting up tax efficient share schemes.

Suzannah will be speaking about:

how employee share option scheme operate and what you need to think about when setting them up the issues to be aware of when issuing share options to employees without a full scheme the issues around "sweat equity". We'll also be discussing a new (top secret) initiative we've been involved with to make it easier for early stage companies to issue shares to mentors.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The format of the evening will be, as usual:

6.30pm - Doors open, beer and networking

7pm - Legal bit starts.

8pm - Legal bit ends; more beer, pizza and networking.

9pm - End; head to the pub (White Horse, Exchange Square (http://www.geronimo-inns.co.uk/thewhitehorse/))

(but not stay out too late as the Europas are on the next night - you can vote here (http://eu.techcrunch.com/2011/10/26/voting-in-the-europas-awards-for-european-tech-startups-goes-live/) - did we mention that we're up for an award?)
