Join us for this amazing kick-off featuring no other than Ben Fry as our first speaker. Ben will talk about his recent work and give us an exciting glimpse into the highly anticipated Processing 2.0 release.
Pizza and beer will be provided!
About Ben:
Ben Fry is consumed and distracted by the patterns and structures found in complex and dynamic sources of data. Drawing on a background in graphic design and computer science, he pursues this fascination in Boston, MA as principal of Fathom, where he produces software, printed works, installations, and books that depict and explain important and heady topics like the human genome and baseball salaries. He's also co-founder of the Processing (www.processing.org) project, which seeks to ruin the careers of talented designers by tempting them away from their usual tools and into the world of programming and computation. Similarly, the project is designed to turn engineers and computer scientists to less gainful employment as artists and designers.
