Boston Data Visualization Message Board › New Year in Data Vis - Updates!
We are quite overdue for a meetup, but unfortunately we won't resume full operations until March/April. I am traveling in another part of the world and won't be able to coordinate events. There are however a couple of fun updates I figured were worth sending your way:
1. TONIGHT @ 6:00pm, if you have time - I would head to see Jer Thorp speak at Northeastern. He is one of my favorite artists and speakers and I have no doubt he will inspire you too.
More info is here: http://www.art.neu.edu/
2. If you are a developer interested in data visualization and sound, Halsey Burgund, the creator of an incredible sound installation called Scapes is looking for developers to work with on Roundware. Roundware is an open source platform that collects, stores, organizes and re-presents audio content. He's looking to build in some visualization capabilities for a project with the Smithsonian (making this extra amazing.)

3. FEBRUARY 1st - Tickets go on sale for Eyeo Festival. This is the second rendition of this conference and I was fortunate enough to go to last year's inaugural get together. Let me tell you, it was by far one of my favorite conferences. The speakers were great and the audience was just the right subset of folks. I highly recommend if you can attend.

That's it for now. Do let me know if there are any additional things I should broadcast or if this is just annoying.
Last but not least, this meetup could use a co-organizer. Given that I am away, I would love to see this community continue in my short absence. If you are interested in helping out, please email me!
