ElasticSearch Hackathon 9/28 @ hack/reduce

Hopper is hosting an ElasticSearch Hackathon at hack/reduce, Boston's big data hacker space, on Saturday 9/28 from 9:30am-8pm and we thought this event may be of interest to developers in this group. More information and FREE registration is available here:

http://hoppereleasticsearchhackathon-08.eventbrite.com

This full-day ElasticSearch Hackathon will be focused on natural language processing and machine learning using open source Elasticsearch technology, NLP/ML libraries and unstructured data sets. Sponsored by ElasticSearch, Traackr, & SoftLayer, this event is a great opportunity for interested developers (front- and back-end) to learn to use or improve their skills with ElasticSearch, get access to a powerful cluster and various technologies, meet fellow hackers, and get support from the many skilled mentors that will be on hand throughout the day.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Hi everyone! For those of you planning to attend on Saturday, here is some useful information:

    THINGS TO BRING:
    - Your laptop and charger
    - A water bottle: hack/reduce is trying to generate as little trash as possible; there will be many places to fill up throughout the day!
    - A VGA (preferred) or HDMI adapter - we have these for Mini Display ports (Macs), but if you have an exotic machine, we recommend you come prepared if possible.
    - Project ideas: Everyone is welcome to bring their own project ideas and find team members at the event. And if you don't have a precise project idea, don't worry, you can join a team!
    - Data sets: We'll be preloading some data sets, but if there's something specific you're interested in or you have access to data sets that you think could be of interest to other participants, bring your ideas and we'll help get them indexed and available for everyone on-the-day.

      ...HOW TO PREPARE:
      - Prep your laptop and get familiar with the resources available on the Github repo at github.com/hackreduce/elasticsearch-hackathon
Please note: we are unable to provide support for any type of Windows environment, although such an environment should work.
      - Register to vote and present at the end of the day at elastichack.challengepost.com
This is the platform we're using to capture submissions and voting at the end of the day. In order to present and vote, you'll need to be signed-in; save precious hacking time by doing it now!

We're excited to see you there!
