Show and Tell Night

Details
UPDATE 2:
One of speakers ran into a conflict. Re-adjusted schedule to just have 3 speakers.
UPDATE WITH PRESENTATION SCHEDULE:
Thanks to everyone who contacted me about volunteering to present. We have four speakers lined up for this night, but I will schedule another Show & Tell night for early December and start setting that schedule.
Here is the schedule, the talks will be roughly 15 minutes + Q&A:
6:00 PM - Happy Half-Hour
6:30 PM - Spring Boot for Hadoop
Thomas Risberg @ Pivotal
Spring Boot provides an easy way to build and run Java and Groovy based Spring applications. In this talk we will take a quick look at how this can be applied to applications using Hadoop. We'll see examples of a Groovy app accessing HDFS, a simple Spring Java application running on YARN and also a simple batch workflow running MapReduce and Hive jobs using Spring Batch.
7:00 PM - Domain-Specific Analytics Platforms
Jordan Menzin @ Boston Health Economics
Demos and lessons learned from building our platform.
7:30 PM - Research Search at Merck Using Hive and Storm
Ted Allen & Wes Fowlks @ Merck
We have built a Google like search application which specially presents the user results according to the data source. We quickly ingest and index data using Sqoop, Hive and a Lucene Hive Storage Handler we have written as part of the project. Queries are processed using Storm topologies and Lucene. We'll present what works and what could work better about our architecture.
