Boston Terrier Meetup, Portland
Details
Hello to all of you in the Portland Metro who are owned by a Boston!
Please come out and join in the Boston fun! Friends of Bostons and Boston-wanna-be's are welcome, too! We meet at off-leash dog parks every first Sunday of the month in Hillsboro at Hondo Park at 2:00 p.m.; and the third Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. at Normandale Park, at Halsey and 57th, in the Hollywood District. The Hondo Park meeting time is subject to change in the warmest months due to the fact that there is no shade, and we want to protect our guys from overheating, but we will give plenty of notice of any time changes.
Our primary goal is fun and socialization for our beloved Bostons, however, as a group, we form a network of safety for them as well. Anytime a Boston is in peril: lost/found, in a shelter, or needs rehoming, we can all help out. When Cidney first took over the group, it was very young and had around 57 members. Now we are over 360, and that is a strong number to look out for our little guys!
We also do fun things like parades and costume contests, clothing/accessories swaps, sharing funny stories; and helpful things like dog-sitting in trade, and vet/grooming/boarding recommendations, as well as tips and tricks, like how I got my dog to let me grind her nails without biting me! Feel free to join us and share your wisdom and ask your questions.
Can't wait to see ya! Happy Tails,
Angie, Steve, Shadow and Panda; Cidney, Virgil and Albert
P.S. I (Angie) am the Boston Terrier referral contact for the BTCP. I refer to known, reputable breeders who practice responsible breeding, including all relevant pre-breeding testing, as well as rescues through our official rescue sources, although I don't do rescue myself. Please contact me if you or someone you know is looking for a Boston!
