This month, we are doing a self-paced workshop on how to set up your Titanium development environment and we'll end with writing a few "HelloWorld" apps. This is a great opportunity for people who'd like some help getting started with Titanium, or perhaps need an excuse to get started if they've been procrastinating. :)

I am putting together the outline for the workshop, which will be based on the Appcelerator Titanium

Set Up Guide (http://docs.appcelerator.com/titanium/2.0/#!/guide/Setting_up_Titanium_Studio) and Quick Start Guide (http://docs.appcelerator.com/titanium/2.0/#!/guide/Quick_Start).

I am soliciting both those interested in attending the workshop, as well as people who will act as my TA's and assist the workshop attendees. Also, bring your friends who are interested in Titanium!

When you RSVP, please answer the question about whether you'd like to be a workshop attendee or workshop TA. Only I can see your answer.

To help ensure workshop success, please do the following before the workshop:

  1. Make sure that your laptop (hardware and software) meets the minimum System Requirements listed in the Set Up Guide. You can do both iOS and Android development only on a Mac. You can do only Android dev on non-Macs.

  2. Since most of the set up time will involve downloading and installing SDKs, if you have time before the workshop, try to get through the Quick Start guide on your own as much as possible. Then, you can come with questions or if you get stuck. Otherwise, you may not have time to finish your installation before the workshop ends.

Agenda:

6:00-6:15pm: Eat and Network

6:15-8:15pm: Self-Paced Workshop (Conducted by Vui Nguyen and TA's)
