Welcome to BP-friendly world! Our goal is to connect people with bipolar disorder with others who are also diagnosed as bipolar. This is a PEER-TO-PEER social group.

NOTE TO FAMILY AND CAREGIVERS: If you are a family member, friend, or caregiver who is coming to the group with your loved one with bipolar disorder you are welcome to sit in to support them. HOWEVER, we would like you to keep a few things in mind: this group is a social group for those who are bipolar. Thus, it's a peer-to-peer group. It is not a problem solving or therapeutic support group for loved ones/caregivers of those with bipolar. If you need a therapeutic group that offers support and problem solving, please contact NAMI for information about their family support groups. Just cut and paste the link to your web browser to get connected to NAMI's family-to-family support groups  http://www.namisacramento.org/meetings/support_groups.html#NAMISACF2FLet's Also, please have respect for where your loved on is at. Do NOT use our group to force change and awareness on to them. Lastly, if you come with your loved one, please respect them and the group by not complaining about how horrible it has been for you as the caregiver because your loved one has been acting so horribly.  We want to maintain a positive group environment. Thank you for your consideration.

Let's socialize, make new friends, share our experiences and prove that we can have a nice, balanced life "beyond the label"! Once again, we are NOT a therapeutic support group. We do not intend to remain anonymous or to focus on problems or difficulties. However, you may meet many wonderful and helpful people who can understand your struggles. For us, bipolar disorder is a medical condition that can be successfully managed. It doesn't have to negatively  impact our personal life, alienate us or prevent us from meeting interesting people. We are NOT a problem-based therapeutic group, but we are open to discuss everything related to BP: personal experiences and wisdom, triumphs and struggles, medical news, new studies, books, hobbies, etc. Let's get together!
