(Cross-posted from my supper club, Play With Your Food!)
Now that crab season has been open for a couple of weeks I'm up for some more of it, and at Fisherman's Wharf this Sunday they'll be hosting their annual Crab Fest with chefs from some of the top Fisherman's Wharf restaurants who will share their favorite Dungeness crab dish, complemented by local sustainable wine. (The event is at #500, above the Wax Museum. See the map with the ticket link below.)
The event brings at least 10 Fisherman's Wharf restaurants into one place with wine, a free commemorative wineglass, sustainable booths and discussions, recipe ideas, charitable donations and much more. Also participating are Treasure Island Wines, the Aquarium of the Bay/The Bay Institute, and U.S. Pure Water. Celebrate the coming holiday season with this tasty crustacean and your Meetup friends!
Tickets are less than $30 when purchased online here, or $30 at the door. I highly recommend buying your ticket beforehand, however -- you're guaranteed not to get shut out, it'll get you out of bed on Sunday morning, and your purchase (and all proceeds, in fact) will benefit the SFFD Toy program and the SFPD Youth Fishing program. I've bought my ticket -- come on, let's have fun on a Sunday afternoon.
Participating restaurants include:
- Bistro Boudin
- Blue Mermaid
- Cafe Pescatore
- Fog Harbor Fish House
- The Franciscan
- McCormick & Kuleto's
I won't put a cap on this event, but I do ask that you not blow off your rez (canceling late is okay, this one time only) so I'll know to look for you. The F-line streetcar runs from Market Street to the Wharf if you feel like BARTing over.
Thanks, and see you over some crab we won't have to peel!
